What time does Netflix release new shows?
Checked 2026-10-25
Quick answer
Netflix usually releases new shows and episodes at 12 a.m. PT. In winter that is 8 a.m. in the UK and 7 p.m. in Sydney; in summer it is 8 a.m. in the UK and 5 p.m. in Sydney.
In your time zone right now, a 12 a.m. PT release is at …
Netflix releases its original shows and films worldwide at the same moment: 12 a.m. Pacific Time (3 a.m. Eastern) on the release date. Because it is one global moment, the local time depends on where you live. In the UK and Ireland it lands in the morning (7 or 8 a.m., depending on daylight saving), while in Australia and New Zealand it arrives in the evening of the same date. Titles that are not Netflix originals in your country go live at midnight local time instead.
Netflix release time in every country
| Country | Time zone | Northern winter (Nov to Mar) | Northern summer (Apr to Oct) |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | Eastern (ET) | 3 a.m. EST, same day | 3 a.m. EDT, same day |
| Pacific (PT) | 12 a.m. PST, same day | 12 a.m. PDT, same day | |
| United Kingdom | UK time | 8 a.m. GMT, same day | 8 a.m. BST, same day |
| Ireland | Irish time | 8 a.m. GMT, same day | 8 a.m. IST, same day |
| Canada | Eastern (ET) | 3 a.m. EST, same day | 3 a.m. EDT, same day |
| British Columbia (Vancouver) | 1 a.m. PDT, same day | 12 a.m. PDT, same day | |
| Australia | Sydney/Melbourne | 7 p.m. AEDT, same day | 5 p.m. AEST, same day |

"Next day" means the local date is one day later than the US date. For a few weeks in March, April, October and November the countries change clocks on different weekends, so times can be an hour off from this table; release pages always show the exact time. British Columbia stopped changing its clocks in 2026 and stays on UTC−7 all year, so from November 1, 2026 releases arrive there an hour later than on the US West Coast during the northern winter.
How Netflix release times work
- Netflix originals usually go live at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET, the same moment in every country.
- A title that is not a Netflix original in your country goes live at midnight in your own time zone.
- Weekly episodes, and shows that follow a TV broadcast, can follow a different schedule.
- When a title launches at a specific time, Netflix shows it in the Coming Soon section or on the title's page.
Exceptions
- Stranger Things season 5 was released at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET instead of midnight.
- Live events (sport, comedy specials, darts) stream at the scheduled live time, for example Beat Luke Littler at 7 p.m. UK time.
